Information Practices

What We Collect and How We Use It

We limit collection and use to information reasonably related to operating our websites, communicating with homeowners, preparing projects, and running Appalachian Sheds Inc.

Section 01

Who We Are

This Privacy Policy is published by Appalachian Sheds Inc. ("Appalachian Sheds," "we," "us," or "our"), a veteran- and family-owned builder serving Cincinnati and the surrounding Tri-State area.

This policy applies to information collected through appalachiansheds.com, appalachianclassicsheds.com, and information you provide to Appalachian Sheds Inc. through a form, telephone call, text message, email, project communication, or in-person interaction.

Appalachian Sheds Inc. is responsible for the business privacy practices described in this policy.

Section 02

Information You Give Us

Depending on how you interact with us, you may provide:

  • Name, telephone number, and email address.
  • Property or project location and other information reasonably needed to evaluate a proposed building site.
  • Building size, style, options, site conditions, access information, preferences, and anticipated timing.
  • Site photographs, survey plats, HOA information, permit paperwork, drawings, or other documents you choose to send us.
  • Information contained in calls, texts, emails, forms, or other communications with us.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use our websites, website and analytics technologies may collect limited technical and usage information such as browser and device information, pages visited, session information, approximate geographic area, referring source, and website interaction data.

Section 03

Pricing Calculators

Our website pricing calculators perform their pricing calculations in your web browser. Your calculator selections may also generate non-contact website analytics events, such as building width, length, siding choice, or calculator actions, so that we can understand how the calculator and website are being used.

Using a calculator does not by itself provide us with your name, telephone number, email address, property address, or other contact information. We receive contact or project information when you intentionally send it to us, such as by submitting a form, sending an email, placing a call, or initiating and sending a text message.

Calculator prices and configurations are planning tools only. Final pricing, availability, specifications, scope, site conditions, taxes, permits, delivery requirements, and construction terms are established by the applicable written quote, proposal, or contract.

Section 04

How We Use Information

We may use personal information for legitimate business purposes related to your inquiry, project, our websites, or our legal obligations, including to:

  • Respond to questions and prepare quotes or proposals.
  • Schedule and conduct site evaluations.
  • Plan, build, deliver, or install a building.
  • Communicate about an inquiry, order, project, or service request.
  • Provide warranty service, including support related to our 30-Year Structural Warranty where applicable.
  • Maintain customer, project, accounting, and business records.
  • Operate, measure, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect our websites and technology.
  • Detect or prevent fraud, misuse, security problems, or other harmful activity.
  • Comply with applicable legal, tax, permitting, regulatory, or recordkeeping obligations.

We do not use automated decision-making that by itself produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Section 05

How Information May Be Shared

Appalachian Sheds Inc. does not sell your personal information for money.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to operate the business or complete your project, including to:

  • Hosting, analytics, email, communications, form-processing, security, data-storage, software, and other service providers that perform functions for us.
  • Builders, installers, crews, suppliers, or other parties involved with your project, limited to information reasonably needed for their work.
  • Permit authorities, utility locators, HOAs, or similar organizations when needed for a project or when you have asked us to assist.
  • Government authorities, courts, attorneys, insurers, law enforcement, or other parties when disclosure is required or permitted by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, property, safety, or the integrity of our business.

If the ownership or assets of Appalachian Sheds Inc. are reorganized, transferred, merged, or sold, relevant business records may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

Advertising Technologies

We may use advertising or measurement technologies to understand campaign performance or website traffic. Depending on how those services are configured, cookies or other identifiers may be used. Where applicable law requires consent or an opportunity to opt out of targeted advertising, we will provide the required choice.

We do not provide information you submit through our contact communications, or your mobile opt-in and SMS consent information, to third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

  • Message frequency may vary.
  • Message and data rates may apply.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request. Verification helps prevent unauthorized access to, alteration of, or deletion of another person's information.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law. When no specific statutory period applies, we will make reasonable efforts to respond promptly.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right provided by applicable law.

Section 09

How Long We Keep Information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate business and warranty records, and to satisfy legal, accounting, security, dispute-resolution, or recordkeeping requirements.

General Retention Approach

  • Uncompleted inquiries: ordinarily retained for up to 24 months unless there is a legitimate reason to retain relevant information longer.
  • Customer and project records: core records reasonably necessary to document the building, transaction, service history, and applicable warranty may be retained through the warranty period.

You may tell us if you do not want photographs of your project used for public marketing.
